Pre War
George Seabrook was born in 1881, in Bucks Hill, Hertfordshire, son of John Seabrook, an Agricultural Worker and Abigail (nee Howe) Seabrook. The youngest of five children, three girls and two boys.
He was Christened on 12 June 1881, in the Parish Church, Chipperfield, Herts.
1881 Census records George aged 1 month, living with his parents, and four siblings at, Jefferies Farm, Abbotts Langley, Herts.
1891 Census records George aged 10, at school, living with his parents, and three siblings in Bucks Hill, Herts.
By 1901 the family were living in Alexander Road, Sarratt, Herts, George was employed as a Farm Labourer, still living at home with his parents, and sister Abigail.
George married Ann Elizabeth Dyer on 19 December 1907, in Sarratt, Herts, the daughter of Gabriel Dyer of Flaunden, Buckinghamshire.
1911 Census records George aged 30, married to Ann, they have one son Leslie George Seabrook who was born in 1909, George was employed as a Domestic Gardener, and they were living at “Woodman’s Lodge” Chipperfield, Herts.
Wartime Service
George enlisted at Watford, Herts, posted to the 32nd (East Ham) Battalion, Royal fusiliers (City of London Regiment), with the service number PS/11100. The date George joined the Battalion is not known.
He was killed in action on 7 June 1917, possible at the Battle of Messines, (7 June to 14 June 1917). He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial in Belgium, to the fallen.

The 32nd (East Ham) Battalion, Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) was raised in London by the Mayor and the Borough of East Ham on 18 October 1915. On completion of their basic training in November 1915 they joined the 124th Brigade, 41st Division at Aldershot, Hampshire. They left for France in May 1916, The Division was stationed between Hazebrouck and Bailleul in France. During 1916, they saw action at The Battle of Flers-Courcelette and The Battle of the Transloy Ridge on the Somme. 1917, saw them in action at The Battle of Messines, The Battle Of Pilkem Ridge, The Battle of the Menin Road.
Additional Information
His effects of £3-9s-7d, Pay Owing and £3-10s-00d, War Gratuity went to his widow Ann Seabrook.
