Pre War

Born on 28 Mar 1890 in Kensington, London son of Walter Fitzgerald Knox and Isabella Romanes (Towers-Clark) Lyon later of Tantallon Lodge, North Berwick, East Lothian, Scotland. Educated at Haileybury College 1905–08.

Wartime Service

The Battalion mobilised for war and entered France at Le Havre on 14 Aug 1914 as part of the British Expeditionary Force. He was killed in action during the first Battle of Ypres.

Additional Information

Brother of Lieutenant Alexander Patrick Francis Lyon who was killed in action on 19 Aug 1914 and of Lieutenant Walter Scott Stuart Lyon killed in action on 8 May 1915 who are all commemorated on these memorials.
