Born on 12 Apr 1875 and baptised on 16 May 1875 in Dunsfold, Surrey son of Rev. Augustus William and Emily Jane Watson. Educated at Haileybury College 1889-1893 and Guys Hospital, London (MRCS LRCP 1899). He joined the West African Medical Staff in 1901, served on the Franco-British Boundary Expedition in 1903 and became Senior Medical Officer in Nigeria in 1908. He married Elizabeth Mitchell on 20 Sep 1909 in Bayswater, Westminster and they lived in Rotherfield, Lyme Regis, Dorset.

Wartime Service

He was appointed Principal Medical Officer to the Gold Coast Colony in 1916 and died in service in Accra.
