Biography

Walter Shepherd was first recorded in the Abbots Langley Parish Magazine Roll of Honour in October 1914, serving with Kitchener’s Army. By February 1915 the Roll of Honour listed Walter serving with the Bedfordshire Regiment, and he was recorded as such through to the end of the War. No further details have been identified for this man.

At the time of the 1911 Census a Mr and Mrs Shepherd, both in their seventies were recorded living at 7 Adrian Road, and Mary Jane Shepherd, a widow, was listed living at 80 Marlin Square with her son and daughter, a Lodger and two Boarders. Maybe Walter was connected with one or other of these families.

It is presumed that Walter Shepherd survived the War.
