Son of William and Rosetta Spencer, of Station Rd., Buntingford, Herts; husband of Edith Mary Spencer, of 90, Raynham Rd., Upper Edmonton, London. Born in Buntingford (possibly Aspenden, Buntingford and was living in Edmonton when he enlisted in Tottenham.


The 1901 census shows the family living at London Road, Buntingford. By 1911 they had all moved to Station Road, Buntingford and William was working as a farm labourer. On the 8 November 1914 he married Edith Mary Lee in Edmonton, London. 

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Tottenham, London. Killed in action. 

Additional Information

On the Commonwealth War Grave Commission's site they give Edith’s address as 90 Raynham Road, Upper Edmonton, London after he died.
