Son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (nee SEABROOK) COSTER of Watford.
His parents married 1886 in the Watford district. Elizabeth died 1907 in Watford aged 41, and was buried 2 June in Vicarage Road Cemetery, Watford; Charles died 1912 in Watford aged 49, and was buried 24 October, also in Vicarage Road Cemetrey.
Charles was born 1894 in Watford, and resided in Watford.
On the 1901 Census, aged 6 he lived in Watford, with his mother and five siblings. On the 1911 Census, an office boy aged 16 he still lived in Watford, with his widowed father and two siblings.
Wartime Service
He enlisted in Watford; was entitled to the Victory, British War and 1914-15 Star medals, his qualifying date being 30 August 1915, and died of wounds received in action.
Additional Information
There is an article about and a Death announcement for Charles in the West Herts and Watford Observer dated 12 May 1917.
His brother William died 21 January 1917 and also features on Watford Borough Roll of Honour.
Unfortunately, Charles’ Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
