Son of Frederick William and Fanny (nee CASHMORE) COOK of Watford.
His parents married 1896 in the Hemel Hempstead, Herts, district. Frederick died 3 August 1933 in Bushey, Herts, aged 61, and was buried 5 August in North Watford Cemetery; Fanny died 12 January 1953 in Watford aged 81, and was buried 16 January, also in North Watford Cemetery.
Ewart was born 28 May 1898 in Watford. He attended Alexandra School, Watford, from 9 January 1900 to 24 October 1906, when he transferred to Parkgate Road School, Watford. He returned to Alexandra School from 6 September 1909 to 24 May 1912.
On the 1901 Census, aged 2 he lived in Watford, with his parents and one sibling. On the 1911 Census, at school aged 12, he still lived in Watford, with his parents and three siblings.
Wartime Service
He enlisted in Watford, and was formerly Private 330765 Cambridge Rifles.
He was entitled to the Victory and British War medals, and was killed in action.
Additional Information
Unfortunately, Ewart’s Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
