Pre War

William Holmes Collinson, whose father was William Rowley Field Collinson and Mother Sarah Haslewood Collinson was born  in 1890 in Enfield, Middlesex. He lived with his grandmother in Beckenham for most of his life, his parents and sister having moved to Hornsea, Yorkshire. After school he was employed as a Printers Representative. 

Wartime Service

He enlisted in the Honourable Artillery Company as a private (1019/G) 1st Battalion and he was with them from 18th Sep 1914 to 21st Apr 1915 when he was commissioned as 2nd Lieutenant 6th battalion Northumberland Fusiliers serving in the same area of the Front.


He died 5th Jan 1916 near Ypres, Flanders
