Son of William and Annie (nee WELLS) SMITH; husband of Annie Emily Kate (nee RICHARDSON) SMITH.
His parents married 6 June 1892 at St James’, Bushey, Herts. William died 191 aged 48; Annie died 1923 aged 51; both in the Watford district.
Arthur was born 1892 in Watford, and baptised 3 March 1893 at St Mary’s, Watford. He married 21 June 1913 at St Michael’s, Watford.
On the 1901 Census, aged 8 he lived in Watford, with his parents and three siblings. On the 1911 Census, a shop assistant aged 18, he still lived in Watford, with his parents and seven siblings.
Wartime Service
He enlisted in Smethwick, Staffs, and was formerly Gunner 5344, Royal Garrison Artillery.
He was entitled to the Victory and British War medals, and was killed in action.
