Born in 1896 in Ware, Hertfordshire only son of Joseph and Rose Clibbon and living in Princes Street, Ware in 1901 and in 1 Francis Road, Ware in 1911. He was a maltmaker.


Recorded as born and living in Ware when he enlisted there.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Ware also 2273 Beds and Herts Regiment, entered France on 6 Nov 1914 and was killed in action on the Somme.

Additional Information

There are two Joseph Clibbons with connections to Ware this man (service number 265367) and service number 5832, however only one appears in the Ware memorials. We do not with certainty which (yet) however as this man has the stronger connection we have marked him as appearing.
