Royal Masonic School Memorial, Rickmansworth

Pre War

Born on 19 Oct 1895 in Bingley, Yorkshire son of Walter and Kate Slicer later of 29 Bradford Road, Shipley, Yorkshire. Educated at the Royal Masonic School 1905-11 he then worked in Barclays Bank in Bradford.

Wartime Service

Enlisted in Sep 1915 3782 Trooper, Yorkshire Dragoon Guards, entered France in 1915 and was then sent to cadet school in Oxford and obtained a commission in the Royal Warwickshire Regiment on 30 Oct 1917. He was shot in the head in the trenches.

Additional Information

Brother of Lieutenant Philip Sydney Slicer who died of his wounds on 30 Sep 1918 and is also commemorated on this memorial.
