Pre War

Born on 29 Apr 1897 in Bingley, Yorkshire son of Walter and Kate Slicer later of 29 Bradford Road, Shipley, Yorkshire. Educated at the Royal Masonic School 1907-14 and obtained a scholarship to study at Brasenose College, Oxford but the war intervened.

Wartime Service

Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant R.G.A. in Aug 1916, he was wounded in Sep 1918 and died of his wounds in a casualty clearing station in Brie.

Additional Information

Brother of 2nd Lieutenant Walter Gordon Slicer who was killed in action on 13 Apr 1918 and is also commemorated on this memorial.
