On the Death of his Father in 1898, his Mother Emma returned from Whitechapel with Son Samuel aged 1 year and pregnant with Edward, to live with her parents in Mill Green, Essendon, Herts. Edward was born on the 14th February 1899, in Essendon, Herts. The Son of the late William Andrew Clark and Emma Edith Clark. Edward was Baptised on the 2nd April 1899, in Essendon, Herts. The 1901 Census shows Edward aged 2 years and living with his Mother, Brother Samuel and Sister Edith at their Grandparents home at Mill Green, Essendon, Herts. His Mother died in 1908. Edward and Samuel continued to live with their Grandparents. The 1911 Census shows Edward aged 12 years and living with his Grandparents and Brother Samuel at Bedwell New Cottages, Essendon, Herts.
Wartime Service
Edward enlisted in Hertford, Herts. He was killed in action on the 13th October 1918, he has no known grave. He is commemorated on the Vis-en-Artois Memorial in France.
