In the 1871 Census he was living at Portsea with parents, in 1881 Census living at Woodcote house, a school as a boarder and scholar and in 1901 Census living at Grove Park Mansion, Budbrooke Warwickshire with father and siblings.
He married Marjory Shakerley, of Whittington Lodge, Worcester and Geoffrey Peter was born 11 Apr 1906, Marjory Cecilia, born 20 Mar 1907.
Before WW! he served in South Africa, Somaliland,East Africa and Sudan and on 6 Sep 1904 he was gazetted with his award of the DSO.
1911 Census living at 14 Charlton Road, Blackheath, Greenwich with wife and children. Occupation Officer in His Majesty's Forces.
Wartime Service
He went to France with the BEF on 9 Nov 1914 and was killed in action.
Additional Information
When his body was found, before re-burial in this cemetery, he was identified by his name on his binoculars, Majors Crown, initial on binocular case and clothing and a automatic Colt revolver. These effects (except the hand gun) and a gold locket with photo. Back pay and gratuities £125 5s 8d paid to wife also after probate she received a further £429 18s 3d. His children each received a compassionate payment of £24 per annum. His son until his 18th birthday, his daughter until her 21st birthday.
