Pre War

 Arthur was born in Harpenden on 23 June 1896, the second son of Charles Seabrook, a bricklayers labourer, and Clara (nee Nicholls). They were living on Cravells Road, Harpenden.


On the 1911 Census Arthur was listed as an errand boy. 

Wartime Service

Arthur volunteered in September 1914 as Private 15138 in the Bedfordshire Regiment.


He went to France on 26 Jul 1915 with 7th Battalion of his Regiment and fought at Ypres and Arras and was wounded at Hill 60, and also at Givenchy. During his service he gained the rank of Corporal. Re-joining his unit he was killed in action at St Quentin during the German Spring Offensive on 23 March 1918.


His remains were not recovered and he is remembered on the Pozieres Memorial on the Somme
