Son of Flora Mary (nee FRENCH) SCOTT of Watford, and the late William SCOTT.
His parents married 19 April 1891 at St Mary’s, Felpham, Sussex. William died 1914 in Watford aged 52, and was buried 11 December at All Saints, Leavesden, Herts; Flora died 13 October 1939 in Watford aged 68.
William was born 26 July 1894 in Leavesden, and baptised 19 August 1894 at All Saints, Leavesden. He resided in Watford.
On the 1901 Census, aged 6 he lived in Garston, Herts, with his parents and one sibling. On the 1911 Census, a gardener aged 16, he lived in Kingswood, Watford, with his parents and one sibling.
Wartime Service
He enlisted in Watford; was entitled to the Victory and British War medals, and was killed in action in the Battle of Cambrai – a successful attack at Highland Ridge near Villers-Plouich.
Additional Information
Unfortunately, William’s Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
