Son of Jasper Thomas and Harriet (nee COPCUTT) SCOTT.
His parents married 28 November 1868 at St Michael and All Angels, Waddesden, Bucks. Thomas died 1924 aged 80; Harriet died 1924 aged 80; both in the Aylesbury, Bucks, district.
Eli was born 1882 in Waddesden, and baptised 13 May 1883 St St Michael’s, Waddesden. He resided in Watford.
On the 1891 Census, a scholar aged 8 he lived in Waddesden, with his parents and six siblings. On the 1901 Census, a general labourer aged 18, he still lived in Waddesden, with his parents and four siblings. On the 1911 Census, a general labourer aged 28, he was a boarder in Watford.
Wartime Service
He enlisted in Watford; was entitled to the Victory and British War medals, and was killed in action during the Battle of Arras in the front line near Fontaine-les-Croisilles.
Additional Information
Unfortunately, Eli’s Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
There is an article about and a Death announcement for Eli in the West Herts and Watford Observer dated 21 July 1917.
