Born in 1884 in Hoddesdon son of John Burton and living in Burford Place, Hoddesdon in 1891.
He worked as a groom in 1901 and lived in 1 London Road, Hertford. He married Lizzie Scripps on 22 Aug 1909 in Enfield, had one daughter and was living in 22 Oatlands Road, Enfield in 1911. He was a bricklayer.
Wartime Service
Enlisted at Enfield, Middlesex and died of wounds probably in hospital in Rouen.
