Born in 1886 in Redbourn, Herts. son of Charles and Emma (Smith) Burgess and christened on 15 Aug 1886 in Redbourn. He was living in High Street, Redbourn in 1901 as a labourer. Husband of Mrs. B. S. Bull (formerly Burgess) and lived in Hungerford, Berks.

Wartime Service

Enlisted in London formerly Private MS/3967 in 3rd Cavalry Ammunition Park, A.S.C. and transferred to the Welsh Regiment. Entered France on 8 Oct 1914 and was killed in action on the Somme.
