Pre War

Born in 1898 in Hertford son of Charles and Mary Bullard, of Hertford and was living in 35 Townshend Street, Hertford in 1911. He was a basket maker.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Hertford on 13 Jan 1917 formerly 36235 Private Bedford Regiment, transferred to the Royal West Surrey Regiment on 2 Mar 1917 and embarked at Folkestone for Boulogne on 6 Mar 1917.


He was transferred to (72669) 122nd Company, Labour Corps on 24 May 1917 and died of pneumococcal meningitis in France.

Additional Information

Brother of Private Herbert Bullard who was killed in action on 30 Nov 1917 and of Bombardier John Bullard who died in Egypt on 13 Nov 1918 who are also commemorated on these memorials.
