Pre War

Born on 5 Jun 1870 in Highfield, Windermere, Westmoreland son of Lieut. Richard Fletcher Broadrick R.N. and Frances Mary Broadrick (nee Crewdson). Educated at Haileybury College 1884-86. Gazetted 2nd Lieutenant from the militia on 10 Oct 1891, Lieutenant 28 Mar 1893. Served on the Waziristan Expedition 1894-5 and in South Africa 1900-02. Captain 13 Apr 1901 and Major 5 Apr 1911.

Wartime Service

When WW1 broke out he was in command of the Border Regiment Depot at Carlisle Castle. Appointed Lieutenant Colonel in May 1915 and took over command of the 6th Bn. and after training they left for the Dardanelles in Jun 1915. Mentioned in Despatches (London Gazette 28 Jan 1916),

He was killed in action at Chocolate Hill, Suvla Bay.
