Pre War

William Richard Briant was born in Tring in 1910 to William Briant, farm labourer, and Lucy (nee Pitchford).


On the 1901 Census the family of parents, Ethel Pitchford (born 1895) and Charles Briant born 1900) were living at fern Cottage, Tring.


On the 1911 Census the family of parents, Charles, William Richard, Rose Catherine (born 1906), and Frank (born 1910) were  living at Bulbourne, Tring.

Wartime Service

William enlisted in the Royal Field Artillery as Driver 110388. No Service Record was found. William died in Farnborough, Hampshire on 17 Jan 1920 and was buried in Tring Cemetery on 

Additional Information

William received no Medals as he did not serve abroad or on active service.
