Son of Charles and Eliza Brewster, of Thorley St., Bishop's Stortford.


Before joining the Army, George was employed as Chauffeur & Gardener by Dr Bevill of Woodford. His home address was in Thorley Street.


He was recorded as born in Thorley and living in Bishop's Stortford when he enlisted Barking, Essex.

Wartime Service

George joined the Army in September 1914 and went out to the Dardanelles on August 1st 1915.


He was wounded at Gallipoli on August 29th, 1915 and died of dysentery in hospital in Cairo on September 25th 1915.
