Son of Henry James and Frances/Fanny Maria (nee VENABLES) BRADFORD.

His parents married 22 August 1897 at St John’s, Walham Green, Middx.  Henry died 1940 in Watford aged 63, and was buried 12 November in Vicarage Road Cemetery, Watford; Fanny died 1944 in Watford aged 67, and was buried 23 October, also in Vicarage Road Cemetery.

Benjamin was born 1898 in Fulham, London, and baptised 7 August 1898 at St John’s, Chelsea, London.  He resided in Watford.

On the 1901 Census, aged 2 he lived in Fulham, with his parents and no siblings.  On the 1911 Census, at school aged 12, he still lived in Fulham, with his parents and four siblings.

Wartime Service

He enlisted in Watford; was entitled to the Victory and British War medals, and was killed in action during a German attack near Merville.

Additional Information

Unfortunately, Benjamin’s Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
