Born in 1893 in Islington, London son of Robert Watts Wellington Rising and Jessie Margaret (Dunn) Rising later of Gorse Cottage, Ware. His father died in 1908 and after Henry had been killed his mother emigrated to Canada to live with her daughter in Victoria, British Columbia. He was a porter. He left England for New Zealand on 22 Nov 1913 on the Ayrshire arriving at Lyttleton and lived in Wanganui.
Wartime Service
Enlisted in New Zealand, embarked in 1916 and was killed in action in Belgium.
