Son of Thomas Carter and Clara Ann (nee SEXBEE) BOURNE of Watford.
His parents married 3 July 1890 at St Peter’s, Pimlico, London. Thomas died 1929 in Watford aged 76, and was buried 30 October in Vicarage Road Cemetery, Watford; Clara died 11 August 1934 in Watford aged 73, and was buried 15 August, also in Vicarage Road Cemetery.
Cecil was born 23 February 1893 in Watford, and baptised 16 April 1893 at St Peter’s, Pimlico. He attended first Sotheron Road Infants’ School; then Beechen Grove Board School, Watford, from 5 March 1903 to 1 March 1907, when he left to be a clerk with the London & North Western Railway Company. He resided in Watford.
He has an entry in the National Probate Calendar.
On the 1901 Census, aged 8 he lived in Watford, with his parents and two siblings. On the 1911 Census, a railway clearing house clerk aged 18, he still lived in Watford, with his parents and two siblings.
Wartime Service
He enlisted in Bedford; was entitled to the Victory and British War medals, and was killed in action.

Unfortunately, Cecil’s Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
There is an article about and a Death announcement for Cecil in the West Herts and Watford Observer dated 14 September 1918; plus an In Memoriam in the issue dated 30 August 1919.
Has a entry in the National Roll of the Great War.
