Born on 13 Mar 1880 in Watton at Stone, Hertfordshire son of William and Helena (Green) Bonnett and baptised on 13 Jun 1880 at Watton. He was living there in 1881 and 1891. In 1901 he was footman to the Countess of Darnley in 21 Hill Street, Mayfair, London.
He returned to Sacombe and was working on South End farm with his elder brother in 1911.
Wartime Service
Formerly 3123 Hertfordshire Yeomanry. Enlisted in the Hertfordshire Yeomanry on 3 Dec 1915 at Stapleford.
He entered France on 26 Dec 1916 and was transferred to Welsh Fusiliers on 2 Jul 1917 and joined them in the field on 6 Jul 1917. He died on the first day of the main assault of the Third Battle of Ypres, Passchendaele.
