Husband of Carrie Maud (nee BARTON, formerly BONFIELD) TERRY of Dover, Kent.
His parents are unknown.
Albert was born 1892 in Walthamstow, Essex, and married 1914 in the Dover district. He resided in Watford. Carrie remarried January 1918 at Sts Peter & Paul, Charlton by Dover, to Philip William TERRY. He died 1939 aged 49; Carrie died 1959 aged 63; both in the Dover district.
On the 1901 Census, a scholar aged 7 he was living in an institution somewhere in Watford! On the 1911 Census, a Private in the Army aged 19, he was stationed at Grevede Lecq Barracks, St Mary’s, Jersey.
Recorded as born in Walthamstow and was living in Watford when he enlisted in St Heliers, Jersey.
Wartime Service
He enlisted in St Helier, Jersey, and was formerly 10276 King’s Own Regiment. He was entitled to the Victory,
British War and 1914 Star medals, his qualifying date being 11 August 1914, and was presumed killed in action.
Additional Information
Unfortunately, Albert’s Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
