Wartime Service

5.45pm on the 22nd March 1918 the Battalion came under a heavy attack by the enemy on La Montagne Bridge. "C" Company, on left flank, came under very heavy M.G. fire & were forced to retire, with the enemy crossing Bridge. A counter-attack by the Northamptonshire Regiment, assisted by "C" Coy, restored situation and by 7.30 p.m. all enemy were thrown back across Bridge. It is believed that it was during this action that Frederick Reynolds went missing.
