Born in 1886 in Brickendon, Hertfordshire son of Alfred and Eliza Blythe, of 59 West Street, Hertford.


He married Emily Mary Blythe, on 5 Sep 1910 in Stanstead Abbotts, lived at 5 Park Rd., Hertford and had two sons. He was a baker.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Bedford formerly 203739 Bedford Regiment on 30 Nov 1915, was posted on 11 Apr 1917, transferred to 12th East Surreys on 13 Jul 1917and was listed as missing believed killed in action.
