His parents married 1894 in the Fulham, London, district. Elizabeth died!; Matthew remarried 1913 in the Watford district to Priscilla S E FITZGERALD. Priscilla also, presumably, died, and Matthew married for a third time 1932 in the Watford district to Alice May HARRISON. He died 17 July 1949 in Watford aged 76; Alice died 1969 in the Watford district aged 82.
Reginald was born 19 April 1895 or 19 May 1896 in Hammersmith, London. He attended first a school in Hammersmith; then St John the Divine Junior Middle School, Camberwell, London, from 18 October 1904 to 20 June 1905.
On the 1901 Census, aged 4 he lived in Hammersmith, with his parents and no siblings. On the 1911 Census, aged 14 he lived in Boreham Wood, Herts, with his father, step-mother and one sibling.
Wartime Service
He enlisted in March 1915 for a period of 12 years: a fireman at gas works, 5’4″ tall; he joined H.M.S. Queen Mary, 17 February 1916 and was killed or died as a direct result of enemy action during the Battle of Jutland when Queen Mary hit twice by the German battlecruiser Derfflinger and her magazines exploded shortly afterwards, sinking the ship. His body was not recovered for burial; his father of Watford was notified of his death. He was entitled to the Victory, British War and Star medals.
