Born 11 February 1899, one of three sons of Joseph & Emily Blaxhill of Stevenage Road, Weston, Herts. Known as Joey. Baptised on 21 May 1899. His father was a mason/labourer. 1911 Census: living with family at Damask Green, Weston, Herts when he was a schoolboy. Enlisted at Hitchin, Herts.

Wartime Service

Also 249th Infantry Battalion, 6445. Died of wounds sustained during the last German offensive at Aubencheul-au-Bac, near Epinoy.
