Born on 23 Sep 1892 in Watton at Stone, Herts. son of William and Mary Ellen Blackmore, and baptised on 26 Nov 1893 in Watton. He was a gamekeeper.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at Hertford on 31 Aug 1914 into the Bedfordshires (12960). He entered France on 30 Jul 1915 and transferred to the Engineers on 7 Apr 1917 and was promoted to L/Corporal on 8 Apr 1917 and 2nd Corporal on 1 Feb 1918. He died of pneumonia in the 1st Australian General Hospital, Abbeville.
