Son of the late Henry William or William Henry and Annie Elizabeth (nee HORNING) BEVEN of Snodland, Kent; husband of Florence Marian (nee CHALK) BEVEN of Watford.
His parents married 1 October 1876 at St James’, Gravesend, Kent. Henry died 1899 aged 42 and was buried 8 April; Annie died 1903 aged 46 and was buried 14 November; both in Snodland Parish Church.
Charles was born 1886 in Northfleet, Kent, and married 27 July 1912 at All Saints, King’s Langley, Herts. He resided in Watford.
On the 1891 Census, aged 4 he lived in Wouldham, Kent, with his parents and four siblings. On the 1901 Census, aged 14 he lived in Snodland, with his widowed mother and three siblings. On the 1911 Census, he is proving elusive.
Wartime Service
He enlisted in Bournemouth, Hants; was entitled to the Victory, British War and 1914-15 Star medals, his qualifying date being 30 September 1915, and was killed in action.
Additional Information
Unfortunately, Charles’ Service Record appears to be one that did not survive the World War Two bombing.
