Pre War

Jesse was the son of Jesse and Anne Pumfrey, born in Eastbourne in 1883. In 1911 he was living with his parents in East Ham, shown as a plasterer.

His parents were living at Manor Park Essex when he was killed.

He married May Rebekah Porter in 1916 at West Ham. She is said to be of Wellpond House, Standon in army records and it may be that Jesse had no other connection to Standon.

Wartime Service

Enlisted at East Ham. Residence quoted as Forest Gate when he was killed.
