Pre War

Robert Selwyn Pryor was born in Portland Place, London on 25 October 1895 to Selwyn Robert and Margaret Prior and baptised on 22 December 1895 at Weston, Herts. On the 1901 Census, the family were living at 13 Devonshire Lane, St Marylebone. London. His parents were living at 19 Park Avenue, Portland Place, London on the 1911 Census. They later lived at Plaw Hatch, Bishop's Stortford, Herts.

Wartime Service

He enlisted into the Kings Own Royal Lancaster Regiment on 15 August 1914 and served in France from 4 December 1914. He died at St Julien, nr Ypres on 1 May 1915 and said to have been killed by a sniper.

His father received £90 12s 6d in pay owing. N.B. Some records show date of death as 2.5.15 not 1.5.15
