Born 26 Nov 1880 son of John and Elizabeth Mary (Proctor) Preston, of Mearbeck, Long Preston, Yorkshire. Educated at Haileybury College 1894-1898. Served in South Africa 1900-01.
Wartime Service
Entered France at Le Havre on 22 Aug 1914 as part of the British Expeditionary Force. He was killed in action near Ploegsteert and is buried close to where he fell.
