Born on the 28th May 1893, in Wadesmill, Herts. the son of Edward Pratt, a blacksmith, and Emily Sophia Pratt. Baptised on the 16th July 1893, in Thundridge, Herts.
The 1901 Census shows Arthur aged 7 living with his parents, brother William and sister Florence in Back Street, Thundridge, Herts. and in 1911, then aged 17, as living with his Uncle and Aunt at Glebe Farm Cottages, Trumpington, Cambridgeshire. His occupation is given as a Gamekeeper. His father and brother, William, were are living at The Smithy in Wadesmill,
Wartime Service
Arthur enlisted in the 1st Battalion, Bedfordshire Regiment as 14472 Private Arthur Pratt. He landed in France on the 27th April 1915.
He was Commissioned Second Lieutenant Arthur Pratt on the 29th January 1918. Arthur died of his wounds on the 2nd July 1918. The Beds and Northants were on a joint operation at the time of his death. He does not appear on the lists of officers killed in the Bedfordshires records for July 1918, and those of the Northamptonshires do not seem to be available.

His father's address is given as Fern Cottage Wadesmill on army records. CWGC records him as the Son of Edward and Emily Pratt of 52, Thundridge, Ware, Herts.
