Born in 1897 in Hertford son of Joseph Thomas and Florence Barker, of 22, Queen's Road, Hertford. Educated at Wisley Agricultural College.

Wartime Service

Enlisted initially as 5485 Private the Honourable Artillery Company and obtained a commission as 2nd Lieutenant 5th Middlesex Regiment on 30 Oct 1917 entering France on 30 Dec 1917. He died of wounds probably in one of the casualty clearing stations near Arras.
