Son of Alfred Ernest and Mary Plumb, of Beeches Garage, Shenley, Herts. and brother of Ernest Louis and James Victor Plumb.


Census: 1901 Census, living at The Hyde with parents and 1911 Census, living at Oakley Cottages, Shenley with parents and brother James Victor Letch. Occupation Bakers boy.


Officially recorded as born Hendon, Middx and living in Shenley, Herts when he enlisted in Kilburn.

Wartime Service

Enlisted on 12 Jul 1915 in Kilburn. Posted to BEF, France on 14 Dec 1915.


29 Aug 1916 admitted to No. 34 Casualty Clearing Station with a wound to left eye, discharged from same on 31 Aug 1916.

Additional Information

Back pay and gratuities £11 7s 3d paid to mother. Brother of Ernest Louis and James Victor Plumb who also served and fell in France.


Thomas and his brothers, James and Ernest  are also commemorated on the family headstone in Shenley (St. Botolph) Churchyard, Shenleybury. Their inscription reads:
