Pre War
Charles Plum was born in 1897 at Colliers End, the son of Alfred and Mary Ann Plum. Alfred probably died in 1900.
In 1911 Charles was recorded as a farm worker and living with Charles and Mary Ann Wren in Colliers End, with brothers and sisters, so presumably his mother had remarried He enlisted in Puckeridge.
Wartime Service
Formerly 22681 of Northamptonshire Regiment (but this is not confirmed on his medal card) before transferring to the South Staffs 2nd 6th TF Bn. He probably landed in France in February 1917.
Additional Information
The Bn was disbanded in France in January 1918.
