Wartime Service
He enlisted in May 1917 and went out to France on Easter Monday 1918. He was killed in action on the 11 October 1918, apparently by machine gun fire.
Additional Information
Thomas is also commemorated on his family’s grave in Royston Church Additional Burial Ground. His part of the inscription reads:
ALSO RIFLEMAN THOMAS ERIC BAKER SON OF THE ABOVE [William Baker] KILLED IN ACTION IN FRANCE OCTOBER 11TH 1918. AGED 19 YEARS.
