Pre War

Born on 21 May 1881 in Kew, London son of Major Walter Ferrier and Agnes Janet (Northcott) Austin. Educated at Haileybury College 1895-1899. Applied for The Royal Military College, Sandhurst but failed his eyesight test. Went into business in Valparaiso, Chile and married Margaret Eve Llewellyn of 5 Alexandra Road, Walmer, Kent in Concepcion, Chile on 7 Dec 1910.

Wartime Service

Returned to England on the outbreak of WW1 and obtained a commission as 2nd Lieutenant in the 12th Worcestershires on 2 Dec 1914. Arrived in the Dardanelles in Sep 1915 and was killed in action at the evacuation at Cape Helles.
