Born on 27 Dec 1879 and baptised on 4 Apr 1880 in Islington, London son of Thomas and Maria Eugenie Askwith.


Educated at Haileybury College 1894-97. He married Ruby Isabel Garrett in 1910 and they lived in Cheam, Surrey. He was a life assurance clerk.


Address later given as Sleningford, Hillside Road, St Albans.

Wartime Service

Formerly enlisted Private 8562 Inns of Court O.T.C. he obtained a commission as 2nd Lieutenant R.F.A. and entered France on 16 Jan 1917. He was killed in action.
