Born on 11 Mar 1864 in Kirkdale, Liverpool son of the Rev Richard and Ellen (Wagstaff) Appleton and baptised on 4 May 1864.
Educated at Haileybury College 1877-80. Served in the South African War 1900–01.
He was unmarried. In 1911 he was a general merchant living in Grappenhall, Warrington.
Wartime Service
He died in service on Tonbridge, Kent.
