Pre War

William was born in Victoria, London the son of Edith & the late William Pearce. At the time of his death his mother was living at the Sun Hotel in Stevenage.

Wartime Service

On the 28th March 1918 the Battery were in position at the Bois De Vaire where it was very heavily involved in an attack. William Pearce received a Gunshot Wound during this action and was removed to hospital where succumbed to his injuries nine days later. He is buried in the Etaples Military Cemetery, France.
