Married Matilda Butterfield on 4th Oct 1906 at Breachwood Green.Children: Charles Edwin 1906, Joy Doris 1907, Mabel Irene 1910, Frederick Harold 1912, George 1915, Reginald 1917.
1891 census- Aged 4 living in Breachwood Green. 1901 census- Aged 14, General labourer, farm. Living in Breachwood Green. 1911 census. Aged 24, General labourer on sewage station, living in Breachwood Green.
Wartime Service
Enlisted on 24th June 1916, called up for service 7th Dec 1916. Posted to 45th Training Reserve Battalion on 9th Dec 1916. Transferred to Machine Gun Corps in Grantham on 13th Feb 1917 and transferred to 296th Agricultural Coy Labour Corps 12th Oct 1917.
Taken into hospital on 25th Oct 1918 & died of Pneumonia on 26th Oct 1918 at Central Military Hospital in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.
Additional Information
Medically unfit for service overseas. Religion- Baptist.
