Pre War

Born in 1871 in Ware, Hertfordshire son of John and Sarah Peachey later of Vanguard Street, Deptford. He married Frances Hilliard on 9 Feb 1901 in Greenwich and they lived at 39 Heston Street, Deptford, London with one son. He was a carman and coal porter.

Wartime Service

Initially enlisted at Lewisham, London on 19 Sep 1914 in the Army Service Corps as a driver, but was discharged as medically unfit due to severe varicose veins on 21 Oct 1914. He presumably re-enlisted with the Queen’s Own and was killed in action on the Somme.
