In the 1901 census the family are living in Uxbridge Road, Rickmansworth. Father George L Palmer is aged 33 and a carter born in Rickmansworth. Mother Edith is 33 and also born in Rickmansworth. Step sister Lydia Woolens is aged 10, step brother George Woolens is aged 5. Herbert W Palmer is aged 1. Herbert's aunt May aged 37 an asbestos worker and her daughter Annie aged 6 are also living with he family.
In the 1911 census the family is living at 127 North Street, Stanground, Peterborough, Huntingdonshire. Father George is aged 44 and a labourer on a farm. Mother Edith is 44. George Palmer is 16 Taking of Press Brick. Herbert 13 is a labourer on a farm. Florence is 8, Mable is 5, John is 4 and Olive is 5 months old.
Recorded as enlisting in Kings Lynn.
Wartime Service
Enlisted at King’s Lynn, Norfolk and died of wounds almost certainly as a prisoner of war in Kassel Camp.
