Glen Mervyn Dickens was born in Ashfield, New South Wales, Australia, the son of Thomas and Eliza Georgina Dickens.
He worked as a Clerk and gave his address as c/o R D Dickens (his brother) at the Government Savings Bank, Tumut, New South Wales.
Wartime Service
He enlisted on 10 February 1915 and served as Corporal with the 17th Battalion, D Company. His unit embarked from Sydney, New South Wales, on board Transport A32 Themistocles on
He was commissioned in 16 August 1916 and served as 2nd Lieutenant of the 17th Battalion.
He was killed in action on 9 October 1917. His body was never recovered and his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial.
